M.M.C.U!

I know!
I've been busy - legitimately busy!

And sick; it that will help any......

So here is what has been going on since my last post.  Except it to be very scattered and probably a touch confusing.  Please forgive me.  I have a stellar head cold and I think I might have taken 2 of the red tabs when one was sufficient.  Web MD has assured me I will not die but am in for a interesting afternoon! A ha!

  • The gym has become my little, little lady.  I am getting strong and have noticed my clothes have been fitting me differently.  I also have discernibly muscles - yes; this lass!  And just in time for this crappy cold fall-like weather we have been having....that's OK; I'll just stun you all in the spring after I have a year under my belt! =D
  • November 11th is creeping up on me ever so quickly......
  • I have been listening to Craig Ferguson's stand up non-stop - I have perfect my Scottish accent.  Now I just need to get back over there and try it out on the local population....
  • Terri and I spent the day at the Devil's Punch Bowl.  I love it there - though it seems to be where all the kids go to deal drugs.  Not on my watch!  Wait and see....I'm gonna get shot!
  • Been tearing ass around the woods at the shop on the new 3-wheelers.  I see why they are banned; they are sketchy as hell!  If the drug dealing 13 year old punks don't get me; cracking my melon open on a tree because I can't tell remember which is clutch and which is brake, is a legitimate possibility.  Because helmets are apparently only for the educated......it is fun as hell tho!
  • Jason and I have been trying to figure out where we are going to spend Christmas/New Years.  I want Bali, He wants the Caribbean; for what I can only assume has to do with Pirates.   I've been to the Caribbean.......we are going to Bali.   Otherwise it's Mexico.  Again.  :/
  • I have a chest cold that becomes a head cold that morphs back into a chest cold.......the cycle is getting old.  And I miss smelling.  Is it May yet?!
  • I am currently 1-1 in my Fantasy Football league.........and in 2nd place.  It may only be week 2 but I am the only chick in the league --- and I drafted legitimately this year.  I did not take into account their ass in spandex or the size of their biceps; I used legitimate numbers from last year.  So suck it!  =D
  • Jason helped me conquer/goaded me into getting over my fear of heights when we went to Hoffman Hills last weekend and we climbed the 80 ft. observation tower.  My stomach still is upset from that whole tortuous experience! But it was pretty.
  • It was Bruiser 1st Birthday party yesterday - I cannot believe that it has already been a year!  I can literally hear my biological clock ticking in my ear - the bastard - being surrounded by babies yesterday DID NOT help that cause at all.  I need a puppy.  Or a goldfish.  Hell, a pet rock.
  • We turned the heat on.  WE TURNED THE HEAT ON!!!! <------------- O.o WTF!
  • Todd and Amanda moved less then 10 blocks away from us - totally the best thing ever!  Not we just need to learn how to sync our schedules so we can toss back some beers an rock out the N64!
  • Jason got me flowers.  I am still suspicious. =)
  • My German fluency is almost back to 100%.  Not sure why you (dear reader) would care but to me it has some meaning.
  • 10 years since I have lived in Germany this month - I have been doing a lot of reminiscing and looking back.  I kinda wish I would have stayed sometimes.......
That is all the dulled brain can think of......... I'll include some pictures seeing as I have not done a photo post in quite awhile.

Have a lovely week all!!!!

Terri and I at the Devil's Punch Bowl

I am afraid of heights yet I pull this jackass move over a 130 ft. cliff - I WANNA CLIMB SOME ROCK!

At the Gym watching Jason warm up with :whew: that many plates!

Tearin; ass! LOL =D

85ft up and I was shaking like a leaf the whole time......... :ugh:

I ran all the way down.  See how much happier I am!?

Max with one of the toys we gave him.

Hims not a fan of frosting! :(

And because I lack a shame gland - a video of my 85ft panic attack.  Thanks ever so much Jason, so capturing this moment in time.  :muah:

Temper Tantrum!

When I was little, my mom said when I would get pissed; I'd walk to the nearest wall and bang my head against it.  Banging hurts so now I punch; but I still have my little tantrums now and then and I need a outlet!.  In fact I am in serious need of a wall whap right about now and I feel like using my head; just like the good ole' days!
I am utterly frustrated and annoyed with every.single.aspect.and.facet. of my shitty, shitty life!  I wish I was one of those people who had a vice.  My SD is a alcoholic and smokes, my mom used to smoke.  Most of my family  belongs in AA (both sides!  BOTH SIDES!) and anger management.  Half my family has crooked noses and failing septum's; most have served jail time.  Me.  I'm to lazy to pick up a friggen' vice, apparently and I could really, really use one right about now.  Cigarettes are gross hands.down. Plus I don't like paying a small fortune for grass and rat poison wrapped up in paper. Alcohol makes me hurl; I went on a 6 year bender from the age 18......alcohol is dead to me!  So is orange juice....... :openly weeps; breakfast isn't the same!:
I like my teeth and my mom paid a kings ransom for them so she would be PISSED if I turned to meth or pills like the penta-tards; plus pills are for losers!  Only white trash hillbillys use that shit and I am neither so that is not an option.  I am not fan of drugs of any kind really but my family seems to think I am some kind of booze and drug hound.  If they only knew how boring my life really is.......
Coffee!  The only thing I really *need* or go off the handle and that is a sad, sad vice.  It basically means I am almost Mormon!  I just need some magical under roo's and I could go to temple!  Writing is not helping.  It just scatters my thoughts today.....it's too cold to climb and I'm super pissy.

What do you do when you need to vent off stress? Go for a run?  Read a book? Put holes in your sheetrock?   I need some advice - until then; I be the one banging her face against the molding!

If I only had the cojones.....

Such a huge part of me is ready to just let this whole situation burn...........anxiety of loneliness is powerful feeling.
If only I had the money to go on a year long sabbatical to find myself.  I really should not have read  Eat, Pray, Love; it has given me wanderlust and itchy feet.  Anyone want to donate to the "Help Stephanie Find Herself" fund?! =D No?

Let it Burn!

I pretty much have a monopoly on the climbing wall as of late; not that there is a long line for it or anything.   My back is currently not talking to me, my legs, as if on their own volition, consistently lead me to my couch, and refuse to let me up.  My already wimpy arms have turned into limpy little noodles and refuse to cooperate half the time.  Buuuuuuuuuuuuuut --- I LOVE IT! With everything that has been going on in my life lately; all of the stress and confusion, I have gotten bogged down in self pity and depression.  On the wall it just sort of melts away and deep down I find this part of me that is really strong.  Stronger then I could have ever anticipated.  And not just physically strong; though I have lost 2 stone and can carry all the groceries PLUS milk into the apartment by myself.  Mentally strong.  There have been times in the last few years that I thought that I was going to lose it-  that I could just not handle life anymore.  The urge to crawl in a hole has swept over me many times and I will admit that I have giving it to it more times then not.
On the wall it just all melts away.....like magic.  There is hope about my future when I am burning it up the wall; a hope that I might actually achieve something someday.  That not all hope is not lost for me.  Standing on the ground and looking at the wall I imagine all of my worries and fears and put them into that climb. With each new hand hold, I am one step close to getting to the top, to beating back all the negative feelings..  It is like I have thrown all of my stress, disappointment and self doubt into each climb.  Some days a half an hour is enough to me to feel human.  Other days, I fold into myself and just push on-  burning up the wall and with it all of the negativity.  Up and down.  Up and down.  Up and down.  Just like my life- except for this time instead of wallowing in the depths of depression I don't give myself time to think of it- I push on.

The comparison of  my life in relation to rock climbing does not escape me.  In fact I find it incredibly poetic.  I have let life get me down too many times to count and unfortunately I have sometimes let the pain of the fall keep me down.  But if climbing has taught me anything, it's this-  if you stop and think about the pain, you give yourself time to talk yourself into quitting; into giving up.  But if you grab the nearest handhold and pull yourself up and go; the pain subsides and you get this natural high that makes you feel like you can achieve anything.  And I can.  My self doubt has held me back long enough; no longer.  I am letting it burn.  Along with all of the worry and fear and loathing and hate.  No time for wasting energy on things that are inconsequential or stressful or painful any longer.  I need to live my life for me.  "This is my one and only life and it's great and terrible and short and endless and none of us come out of it alive."  But I'll be damned if I am not going to make it a great one!

A life lesson learned on a rock wall crag.  =D

Up, Up and Away!!!

I decided that sitting around feeling sorry for myself was just not doing it for me anymore so I checked out the University's activities page and noticed that their climbing wall is open 24/7 (as long as you have a partner) so I went to check it out.  I was pumped to get saddled in and do my first climb in months - first thing I noticed was that not climbing in awhile has really done a number on my upper body!  I felt like a novice the first run up and when I got back down; the rigger looked at me like I had never climbed before.  Whatever you creepy little freshman kinesiology major; I could climb circles around you!  I wish I would/could have said something to that effect but he was holding my toe line and I did not want to fall 100ft because I can't play nice with underclassman! =D  I popped in my Ipod buds, gave my line guide a smirk and started hauling for my second hump up. Then I noticed a girl on the crag next to me climbing like there was no tomorrow so I tried to keep pace with her.  Tried, being the operative word-  she was hardcore and fast!  Up she would go; tag the line and zip back down.  I kept a decent pace with her but eventually I zoned out and concentrated on the climb; trying to get my upped body back.  I climbed for about an hour and a half and then my Ipod died, so down I went; I cannot climb without music to help keep the blood pumping!  Jock Jams 97 baby!!!!!
As I was unrigging and trying not to look a fool (my arms felt like limp noodles), the girl that I had been trying to match came up to me and asked me the requisite climbing questions; how long have I been climbing, goals, favorite tools of the trade, la de dah.
After I was free, we hit up the smoothie bar and finished up our convo.  She is awesome;  I can say that I am in utter awe of her.  Her dad summited Everest in the '07 season, she has climbed Mont Blanc TWICE, and she is currently training to climb Denali next July.  I told her that my ultimate goal was getting into the 7 Summits Club and I was gunning for Denali to be my first summit; hopefully next July. It is the least technical but one of the hardest climbs.  She (did I mention her name was Baylee?) told me that she had been looking for a climbing partner because her classes run past the hours the wall is monitored (for people that have no partners you can only climb between 9 and 6).  She asked if I would be willing to be her partner- um; HELL YES!  So now I have a date every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays to climb!  She is in wicked good shape and a hell of a climber so I am really grateful for her.  She is going to push me and that is exactly what I need if I think I am going to even attempt Denali.  Who knows, maybe we will climb it together, she needs a line rigger and partner for that too!

So, as much as this move has been less then wanted and a little more then inconvenient, I have made a new friend.  I cannot wait until tomorrow night (even though my arms and back are currently pissed at me) when I can tune out the world and my problems and just climb.  Climb to a healthier me, climb to prepare for Denali, climb to forget, climb to beat Baylee to the tag!

I guess Stout is not as horrible as I gave it credit for.  =D

A merry old spinster I'll make!

Today my last "baby" cousin gets married and the 3 amigos will be no more.  It will be the 4 amigos +1 from here on out--- that is if they remember to include their old, unmarried cousin.

I used to love going to weddings - the whole kit and kaboodle; from preparing to go all the way through the reception.  Picking out the dress I was going to wear and matching it up with accessories; all carefully purchased weeks before.  Jamming to 80's love songs (mostly just Journey; you know you like them too!  Don't be a snob!) on the way to the ceremony; usually trying to drive in obscenely high heels and texting for directions.   Spending time with family and friends, watching my drunk uncles keel over; one after another like dominoes. Doing the chicken dance barefoot with my cousins because my obscenely high heels only have to last through the ceremony and dinner.  The electric slide; side by side with my aunt who has no shortage of high octane energy or hairspray.  Defending myself from the "handsy" friends that seem to think that my rear public property.  Doing shot after shot with my uncle - just to prove that I can handle my booze just as good if not BETTER then the rest of the Walker's---- Paging Dr. Mcgillicuddy!!!  Sleeping where I pass out........ =D

Now, the thought of going to a wedding makes me cry.  Not the good tears either.  The I-blew-my-only-chance-at-marriage-and-now-am-going-to-die-alone-in-a-house-filled-with-50-cats-and-nobody-is-going-to-even-notice-until-my-mail-piles-up-or-I-become-a-"weird"-smell, tears.
I am painfully aware that I did, in fact, have a husband.  I am also aware that it would be my 5 year anniversary this September-  trust me when I say that sleep has been elusive as of late.  But-  like everything I touch; it turned to shit.  So now, I am a guest at wedding after wedding where I watch 2 become 1 and I while I sit alone with my kleenex and cry.
All I ever wanted was to be a wife and a momma.  I was a wife- for 579 days and children will never come out of my body.  Not unless there is a god and he decides to take pity on me or science REALLY catches up!

So, as I slip into my new dress and strap on my heels, I will throw a tiny pity-party in my head for a bit then push on.  I will enjoy myself and not worry about what animals may or may not eat me in the near future.  I will dance and laugh and drink too much and put my foot in my mouth one to many times.  I will do the chicken dance and the cha-cha slide and eat cake.  I have lots of time to feel sorry for myself.  Today-  I party!  Tomorrow I can go back to my Bridget Jones lifestyle and mope!

Shove off Annie!

The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
There'll be sun!
Just thinkin' about
Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs,
And the sorrow
'Til there's none!

The thing about depression is that the deeper you sink into it; the more you let it become a part of you- the harder it is to wait for the sun to come out.  I have been on the search for a job for over 3 years and everyday that passes that I don't have one; the further into my depression I let myself sink.  The deeper I get, the less I care about - well, everything.

Why get out of bed?  So I can tidy up the apartment in 10 minutes and then spend the rest of the day staring at page after page of jobs that I am either over or under qualified for?
Why take a shower?  I never leave the house.  Nobody sees me; plus waiting for the water to get warm takes to long.
Why change out of my pajamas when they only people that *might* see me are the Mormons that wander around here looking for souls to "save"-  I don't need clothes to debunk their "religion" and make them doubt their "god." I could do it in a Smokey the Bear costume while hitting a gravity bong.
Why brush my teeth?  Nobody kisses me anymore and I will be dead before I need dentures.  Plus-  it takes up too much energy and involves to many steps.
Why eat?  I am poor so the quality of food I have is shit.  there is no nutritional value and involves to many steps.  Depression does not let you be hungry; it leaves you nauseous and parched.  Depression wants complete control.  Plus-  the only upside to depression is the weight loss.

People keep telling me to go outside and enjoy the sun-  "that will cheer you up."  It might.  But the thought of having to put on clothes, brush my hair, find my shoes, lace them up----- fuck, it is exhausting just to think about all that is involved in a simple walk.
Depression is like having a leech attached to your soul; sucking you dry of all energy or hope that you once *might* have had.  Except you can't get rid of it by throwing salt on it-
Depression lays down roots that crawl and spread to every inch of your body.  It is like a mighty sequoia-  this huge presence that casts a shadow over your entire life; choking out any hope of the sun getting in.   Depression take you over so completely that there is no room for happiness or sadness or any other emotion.  It weighs you down, drains you of you life source and leaves you exhausted and beaten.

So Annie- take your annoying little red curls and go to hell!  In real life you would have stayed in that orphanage until you were 18.  Then they would have chucked you ass out on the street!  You better not bet your bottom dollar- you are going to need it.

If she only knew........

  • If she only knew that life was not infinite......
  • If she only knew that her "father was not what he claimed......
  • If she only knew that hind site was 20/20.......
  • If she only knew that for every happy moment there would be 10 bad ones.......
  • If she only knew how deep words could cut......
  • If she only knew that marriage was not a game......
  • If she only knew just exactly how perfect he was for her
  • If she only knew that the bottom would eventually fall out...
  • If she only knew how much power she really possessed.......
  • If she only knew how fast life goes....
  • If she only knew how to savor the little moments....
  • If she only knew how to think before she spoke...
  • If she only knew how to think before she acted....
  • If she only knew what she knows now at 26........
If she only knew........................would things be different?

I couldn't have written it any better.......................

'Tis be the story of my life!  One cycle after another----maybe someday I will be strong enough to break it.  Maybe.....

Love The Way You Lie
Eminem

Just gonna stand there and watch me burn
Well that's all right because I like the way it hurts
Just gonna stand there and hear me cry
Well that's all right because I love the way you lie
I love the way you lie

I can't tell you what it really is, I can only tell you what it feels like
And right now it's a steel knife in my windpipe
I can't breathe but I still fight while I can fight
As long as the wrong feels right it's like I'm in flight
High off her love, drunk from my hate, it's like I'm huffin' pain
And I love it the more I suffer, I suffocate
And right before I'm about to drown, she resuscitates me, she f**kin' hates me
And I love it, "wait, where you goin'?"
"I'm leavin' you," "no you ain't come back"
We're runnin' right back, here we go again
So insane, cause when it's goin' good it's goin' great
I'm superman with the wind at his back, she's Lois Lane
But when it's bad it's awful, I feel so ashamed I snap
Whose that dude? I don't even know his name
I laid hands on her
I'll never stoop so low again
I guess I don't know my own strength

You ever love somebody so much you can barely breathe
When you with em you meet and neither one of you even know what hit em
Got that warm fuzzy feeling
Yeah them chills used to get em
Now you're getting f**kin' sick of lookin' at em
You swore you'd never hit em, never do nothin' to hurt em
Now you're in each other's face spewin' venom in your words when you spit em
You push pull each other's hair
Scratch claw hit em throw em down pin em
So lost in the moments when you're in em
It's the rage that's the culprit, controls you both
So they say it's best to go your seperate ways
Guess that they don't know ya
Cause today that was yesterday
Yesterday is over, it's a different day
Sound like broken records playin' over
But you promised her next time you'll show restraint
You don't get another chance
Life is no nintendo game, but you lied again
Now you get to watch her leave out the window
Guess that's why they call it window pane

Now I know we said things, did things, that we didn't mean
And we fall back into the same patterns, same routine
But your temper's just as bad as mine is, you're the same as me
When it comes to love you're just as blinded
Baby please come back, it wasn't you, baby it was me
Maybe our relationship isn't as crazy as it seems
Maybe that's what happens when a tornado meets a volcano
All I know is I love you too much to walk away though
Come inside, pick up the bags off the sidewalk
Don't you hear sincerity in my voice when I talk?    {Hell NO!}
Told you this is my fault, look me in the eyeball
Next time I'm pissed I'll aim my fist at the drywall
Next time there won't be no next time
I apologize even though I know it's lies
I'm tired of the games I just want her back
I know I'm a liar if she ever tries to f**kin' leave again
I'ma tie her to the bed and set this house on fire

Unabashedly Infantile Blogger Here!

(click obnoxious yet tantalizing headline to read the article)

Yes, I did giggle.
Yes, I found it highly amusing.
Yes, I have sent this to every single person in my address book.
Yes, I have posted this on Facebook.
Yes, I am 25.

No, I am not a pervert.

It may be my quirky sense of humor or the fact that I have not left the house in 4 days but this pleased me to no end! You may be able to accuse me of being immature but you can never accuse me of not reading the news (true, I was checking the World Cup scores but whatev) or having a dry sense of humor! =D

Happy Hump Day Y'all!

Maybe.

Maybe. . we were supposed to meet the wrong people before meeting the right one so that, when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift.
Maybe . . . when the door of happiness closes, another opens; but, often times, we look so long at the closed door that we don't even see the new one which has been opened for us.
Maybe . . . it is true that we don't know what we have until we lose it, but it is also true that we don't know what we have been missing until it arrives.
Maybe . . . the happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
Maybe . . . the brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; after all, you can't go on successfully in life until you let go of your past mistakes, failures and heartaches.
Maybe . . . you should dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go, be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you dream of, and want to do.

Shangri-La in WI!

It has been really rainy and chilly around here the last few days; in fact, as I type this, the sun finally decided to peek out for just a quick visit.........and it's gone! It feels much more like the middle of Spring/Fall around here then it does Summer! Irregardless, we have been to the river as much as possible lately. The water is still chilly but swim-able; as long as you keep under the water! Mr. Manly Man Jace still has yet to go past his thighs! LOL! Whiner ;)

Today he got off of work early so we decided to walk to the river and just explore. It was still a little to chilly to swim and fresh rain means the water temperature dropped for sure!

We walked down this long forgotten bike path covered in weeds to emerge in what I can only as an hidden oasis!

Can you believe I live here?! Stunning!

I stupidly wore flip flops so I sent Jace on a reconnaissance mission before I venture further up stream! No water snakes for this girl!

My hero! He was on a wild duck chase; a mallard and his mate fly in for a visit then decided to swim upstream.

I could just die here with a huge smile on my face!

Sorry about the streaks; but I couldn't pass up a chance to get a picture in this paradise!

After a few hours the sun started setting and with it brought a chill to the air, so we headed home. I can't wait to go back there; next time with proper footwear and a swimsuit! Y'all are more then welcome to stop by the swimming hole for a beer and a campfire!

Hope you all have a fantastic week!
